Children's Ministry Encouragements

Hi All! Just want to share with you some encouragements related to our children's ministry.

I met Terry yesterday (Jonah's mom) and she thanked us for taking care of him every Sunday morning. It might not be obvious to those conducting the sessions, but Jonah remembers a lot of what is taught during those times. Terry said that Jonah has a very good impression of us and remembers our names. He also often goes back and tells her and Terence (his dad) the things he learned during the M³ hour.

Just want to encourage everyone that our labours in the Lord are not in vain. To me this encouragement is also a reminder for us to take care of what we say and do with the children because though at times we may not realise it, they do see and remember. But praise the Lord for what He is doing! May this little encouragement from the Lord inspire us to labour all the more with joy and hope in our hearts.

GLCC Fathers' and Family Fair 19 June

What you need to know about Fathers and Family Fair
19 June 2004 2-5pm Sat at GLCC

This event is organised for us to invite our fathers and family in. If they are already saved then you may like to invite some unsaved classmates or colleagues to the fair. We hope to meet them, get to know them and at some stage follow up and reach them for Christ. Also if you are fairly new to GLCC, we welcome you so that we can get to know you better in an informal setting.

Although the event is from 2-5pm, we have planned for different activities to be carried out at different times. So if you come late, you may not be able to enjoy all that is planned for you and your guests. Let us take you through the programme:

2 - 3.30 pm Games - When you come through the gate, you and family or guests will be individually registered and required to log in your guess in the Guess the marble competition. There are 6 prizes to be won. Winners will be announced at 5pm...so you need to stay through. At registration each natural family group or family for the day group ( made up of 4 people) will be issued a coupon booklet for games. There are 14 game stalls to visit. After the game is played the coupon will be torn from the booklet and you visit another stall. You will earn tokens for playing games so work hard because you will have to use tokens to exchange for food and drinks. You may like to start training for the following....Ping Pong challenge, Water Torture, Tooth-picks and band of the orthodontal kind.... and many more

3.30 - 4.30 Food - Using the tokens which your family have earned you exchange for a variety of food and drinks. Just a wiff of what's in store...Melvin's prawn noodles, Betty Lim's Penang Laksa, Hau Chun's Durian something, Mei Wee's Roti Prata and Nasi Lemak, GLCC Signature Fried Chee-Ken wings, Lani DJ Filippino dessert, Kat Yeo Soto etc etc

4.30 - 5.00 Gospel Presentation, Results of Guess the Marble competition A short gospel presentation will take place before we announce the winners of the guess the marble competition. We hope to present the gospel in a mix of Mandarin and English in an unusual way. So make sure your unsaved friends and family stay on. There are six prizes to be given away for guess the marbles - Ah Kong, Ah Ma, Male below 16, Female below 16, Male in between, Female in between

2 - 4.30 GLCC Jumble and Craft Sale - Dont miss the action in the "Fish Tank" in the basement. On sale are once loved items as well as handicrafts of the Jmers. Here we only accept cash not tokens. Proceeds will go to mission fund

Lets be praying for our unsaved fathers and family to come in, for the most appropriate weather, for the tiny GLCC building to be greatly used for the Lord and for grace and protection for the workers. May the Lord find us faithful.

Thanksgiving

Praise God that Wenhao trusted the Lord 3 days ago! Thank God for using Ronald to lead her to Christ.

Thank God for perfect weather at the Night Safari last night. It rained the whole day but stopped before we left for the safari. Alicia, Irene Leong, Joni and Shu Ai enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Thank the Lord for Pastor Victor and Auntie Kat who so kindly drove us there and back (even at 12 midnight!).

Thank the Lord for opening doors for us to get to know the senior youths during this holiday. Many of the senior youths are approaching or are already campus age. Let's make use of the upcoming activities (cycling, chalet) to be actively seeking the Lord if He would have us minister to them.

Thank the Lord for Ronald's and Eugene's results. They both graduated with honours! Praise the Lord! Congrats, guys!
